Many construction firms across the nation, including here in Coachella Valley, are celebrating Safety Week 2015 right now. They want to ensure that the public understands the risks inherent in the industry that is such a big part of America's economic health and growth.
Ideally, of course, the firms involved say they would like an incident-free and injury-free week. That would mean a week free from the painful, serious construction accident injuries that leave workers unable to stay on the job while they recuperate.
The injuries include brain trauma, broken bones, spinal cord damage, lacerations, burns and more. In those serious cases, surgery is often required; in many complicated medical situations, more than one surgery is needed to bring a person back to a semblance of health and their normal self.
As we all know, surgeries themselves can take weeks to recuperate from; weeks that can drain savings accounts if the worker is for some reason denied California workers' compensation benefits. In cases of serious injuries, insurers and employers are often eager to find a reason to deny those benefits that hurt their bottom lines.
At English Lloyd & Armenta, we work with you and we fight for your deserved, denied workers' comp benefits. We have been through the appeals process with many injured Rancho Mirage construction workers, and workers in other industries, over our many years of serving the community. We understand the law and the complex appeals processes, regulations and paperwork.
